Passo Giau: The Giant of the Dolomites
Length: 9.8 km, Average Gradient: 9.5%, Elevation Gain: 930 hm. These are the impressive numbers that summarize just the first 28 hairpins leading from Selva di Cadore to the summit of Passo Giau.
It is one of the toughest climbs, yet at the same time, one of the most beautiful in the Dolomites. The panorama descending towards Cortina is priceless and rewards all the efforts of the climb. The return journey takes place through Passo Falzarego, at the foot of the imposing walls of Tofana di Rozes and Lagazuoi.
